Suggest Treatment For Tender Lump With Bruise On Arm After Injury

Hello. My daughter got hit on the forearm during a hockey game and now there is a lump with a bruise and the area is very tender to touch. (actually she won t let anything touch it - nothing more than very light surface contact). I am concerned about a fracture of some sort, should I be?

hello,
i understand your concern,
from your history it is clear that it was a major degree trauma.swelling and bruise are associated with soft tissue injury.there may be underlying fracture too.
to rule out this do a xray forearm AP and LAT view is to be done.
if swelling increases more and there is any symptom of neurovascular deficiency please take her to ER because compartment syndrome may set in.
for now you can give her aceclofenac+seratiopeptidase combination ..
hope this is helpful,
regards.
