Suggest Treatment For Synovial Chondromatosis With Severe Pain

I have synovial chondromatosis in the knee. My calf burned and ached last week, but this week, my thigh (three inches above the knee, almost to the inside of the leg) is doing the same. It s almost throbbing with pain. Is this something to do with my condition or something more sinister?

Hi,

Synovial chondromatosis gives rise to severe pain in the joint, mild to severe swelling of the affected joint, click sound on movement of the affected joint, and stiffness of the affected joint. But the symptoms you mentioned are different from the typical ones. They may be symptoms of synovial chondromatosis or any of the following:
1) Myalgias
2) Neuropathy
3) Radicular pain due to lumbar spondylitis

Hence you need a clinical examination in person to get to a specific diagnosis and for appropriate treatment. You need to consult an orthopedic doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
