How Can Swollen Tongue Be Treated?

My husband has a swollen tongue only on one side of his mouth. He doesn t remember eating anything abnormal, but he did have some hell of a good dip with some wise chips. Could something like that cause his tongue to swell. He can usually eat almost anything.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain swollen tongue seems to be due to either accidental biting of tongue while eating or can also be due to allergic reaction to some food product or medicine..

Nothing to worry as the swelling will gradually subside.
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen as it will reduce inflammation and swelling..
Do cold compresses or cold water rinses to reduce inflammation and swelling..
Take a soft diet..

If there is no improvement consult an Oral Physician..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards.
