Suggest Treatment For Swollen, Sore And White Coated Tongue

I have a swollen tongue, sore tongue, white coated tongue, an ear ache and lumps on the side of my throat. My tongue makes it hard to eat or drink and I feel like I always have something draining down the back of my throat. All on the right side of my face.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have symptoms of swollen, sore and white coated tongue which is mainly because of accumulation of fungal microorganism on tongue leading to oral thrush/ candidiasis. Radiating symptoms to ear and throat is mainly because of granular pharyngitis along with enlargement of lymphoid tissues. Poor oral hygiene and lowered immunity of body exaggerating your symptoms. I would suggest you to start antifungal such as nystanin suspensions and anti-inflammatory medicines along with an antihistamine. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing. Take vitamin B12 supplements. Drink plenty of water. Scrap off tongue using mild tongue scraper to prevent debris accumulation. Visit dentist once if your symptoms keeps on persisting and start treatment as per diagnosis. Do warm saline gargles as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
