Him I have had a swollen left gland for a couple of days and a slightly swollen right gland making it uncomfortable and painful to swallow a drink and food, i am not one for taking antibiotics ect. So I was wondering if there was anything else I could do to help it go down? Any suggestions welcome thanks.

Hi, thanks for your query. .
Swollen glands not associated with pain, need not worry.
Swollen glands with pain , suggests infection.
It's needs to be treated with penicillin antibiotics + anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily for 3 to 5 days.
Empirically you can take anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily. If symptoms persists, then please consult with your doctor and get treated with antibiotics.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
