Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node In The Groin Area
I have a granddaughter who has a lymph node in her groin which is 5 times the normal size. I would like to ask what kind of doctor would you recommend that she see. She is currently seeing oncologist who has ruled out cancer but is stumped as to what she has. She is currently on her fourth antibiotic which is not helping.
hi, very happy to answer you: The fact that it grows and is inflammatory is indicative of inflammation or infection of the region or the leg (eg, pimple or infection). you should see a GENERAL PRACTICIONNER so that he can check and give you the proper treatment. The fact that it is unique and painful is a reassuring element concerning serious illnesses, but this is probably a small infectious problem to be treated, which only your attending physician can do after a good examination of the entire lower limb. Otherwise if it contains pus, drainage (ie remove the pus by an incision) seems essential for healing. May my answer be helpfull and best wishes.
