Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lips After Aninjury

My daughter suffered a fall that required stitches in the inside and outside of her bottom lip...total of 3 sets of stitches...it s incredibly swollen the next day...even with applying ice throughout the day....she is also on an antibiotic and has pain meds...what can be done to reduce swelling and is this extreme swelling normal...how long will it last?

Hello, Inflammation and pain will progressively reduce. It will take about 3 to 4 days for pain to become less. Swelling will also take almost similar time. Antibiotics and pain killer will definitely help in early reduction of both pain and swelling. Thanks
