Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Knee

Knee joint pain not due to injury. When I bend my knee it feels like it s tight almost swollen. It comes and goes, I notice it most after activity, then sometimes it lasts for a few days and just goes away, other times it persists. Is it arthritis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to arthritis. Local examination by orthopedician and X ray of knee joint will be helpful to rule out the condition. In case of effusion aspiration and culture can be done to rule out any infectious causes. In case of inflammatory arthritis NSAIDS, physiotherapy, exercises will be helpful. If there is no improvement then taking corticosteroid injections will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
