Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, so my dad has DM 2 and Hep c. He was diagnosed with pneumonia a couple weeks ago and has just completed his po antibiotics for it. One week ago he suffered an insect bite of some sort assuming a spider bite and was put on Bactrim ds x1 week. He finished his rx today, but noticed this morning that his scrotum is swollen about the size of a grapefruit. His breathing is better, but his spider bite has a black spot in center appears necrotic. His inner thigh is also swollen and tender. We are just wondering if this could be common due to everything or a symptom of something more severe. Not sure if we need ER visit or just dr appt. Any ideas would be appreciated, I m mainly concerned with possible septicemia or endocarditis.
