Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Hands Along With Numbness And Tingling Sensation

i have been having some swelling/puffiness in both of my hands, not the palms. I also have numbness n tingling. I realize this can be one of many things. I should also add that I have Type II Diabetes and High blood pressure, both of which are under treatment from a doctor?

Hello,

I understand your concern. Considering the fact that you take treatment for type II diabetes, and now you have swollen hands and tingling/numbness sensation, this can be caused by many diagnoses.

In my opinion, this might be diabetic stiff hand syndrome. This syndrome is characterized by swollen hands and numbness and is painless. It is caused by an increase of collagen below the skin.

I suggest you to:
- Apply hot or ice packs to your hands.
- Use painkiller drugs (Ibuprofen or Naproxen).
- Try to massage your hands, and avoid straining.

I also suggest you to regularly check your blood sugar level and regularly take your medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
