Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Finger Post An Accident

recently injured the ring finger of my left hand. Something popped as I was trying to raise a stuck garage door. Other than a little tenderness all seemed OK . then I noticed my finger starting to swell slightly. I took off my wedding ring before it could become stuck but the swelling refuses to go down. There is no discoloration or real pain. I have full use of the finger and normal dexterity, just some minor tenderness and this swelling. It s been over two weeks. Thoughts ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possible ligament sprain or strain most likely and very less possibility of major issue of bone fracture or else. Ice application, warm bandage application and anti inflammatory medication with analgesic action for a period of 5 - 7 days will help to resolve the issue best possible way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
