Hello,

You fell after a walk and were very weak and sweating and freezing at the same time. Presently, you are experiencing swelling in the hands and feet joints. Before going for a walk you should make sure that your blood pressure is normal and that your blood glucose is normal. Shivering and sweating happens when your blood pressure and blood glucose level is low and if you have thyroid problem. It can be due to the side effects of certain medications you have been taking. You can take Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS when needed to get rid of knee pain.

However, get clinically examined by a GP, to detect any developing arteritis (RA or OA) or gout. Get blood works and X-ray (knee) done to detect fracture, ligament or tendon injury. You will be accordingly treated. Keep your feet at rest and elevated on a stool when sitting or on a pillow when on bed. Limit the amount of salt intake, avoid taking salty snacks. Maintain your blood glucose level at optimum for easy and quicker healing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
