Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Rashes On The Injection Spot
I had a steroid injection in my hip a few weeks ago, and today noticed the patch of skin in that area is now red, swollen ,and itchy. Should I go to the doctor? (i have had 2 more steroid injections since then, and took a week of prednisone tablets. I m also on a Zpack.)
Mild irritation and swelling is common after Intramuscular injections and since you have been received almost 3 injections, so this can occur. Make sure that the next time you get the injection on a different site. Meanwhile, keep the area clean, this most probably will resolve on its own. However if it persists you can show this to your GP or dermatologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Rashes and swelling are common after intramuscular injections. They usually resolve on their within 2 weeks. Avoid getting injection on the same site again until this resolves. However, if if gets worse consult your GP.
