Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Numbness In Ankles

Almost 2 weeks ago I tripped and twisted my ankle pretty badly. It was extremely painful at first and then my whole leg felt like it went numb for a bit and swelled. I was abroad at the time, so I didn t see a doctor and had to walk around quite a bit on it for the next week. I ve been wearing a brace for about a week and can walk without pain, but I can t fully rotate it without pain, it aches a lot by the end of the day, and still seems a bit swollen. I m just trying to see if I should wait it out or have it checked out.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to sprain or strain. Ice pack application and crepe bandage application will be helpful for this. Immobilisation for 2 to 3 weeks will be helpful. But better to rule out hair line fracture by taking X ray. A consultation by an orthopedician is well appreciated.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
