Suggest Treatment For Sweating, Hot Flashes And Cramps

Today I was feeling fine, then all of a sudden had intestinal cramps, sweating, hot flash. I went to the bathroom and on the toilet fainted. I felt better and then along with sweating, hot feeling and cramping fainted again when not having BM- just cramping lighter that time. I had this happen a few years ago. I do take high blood pressure meds. but BP is under control and I generally feel fine. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You had intestinal cramps, hot flashes and sweating and fainted. Low blood pressure and low blood sugar can cause symptoms that you experienced. Not eating properly until dinner can cause malnourishment, can trigger acid reflux causing abdominal cramping. Take food in time, do not skip meals. Take antacids or PPIs, one SOS when needed.

Sometimes, gluten intolerance can also cause you such symptoms. It could be IBS or food poisoning. Stomach cramps may be from strong muscular contractions of stomach, intestine, gall bladder, ureter or uterus.

You are suggested to get examined clinically by a general physician. Get your vitals checked. Get all required blood tests, imaging tests done so that the treatment can be started. Stay away from addictions if any, stay well hydrated and if diabetic, control your blood sugar at all cost.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
