Hello, I have been suffering left knee pain for the last 5 months and an MRI shows a small subcortical cyst in the proximal tibia, at the level of the medial pallofemerol joint. I m wondering what this Means and how this can be treated? Thank you :) Holly

Welcome and Thanks for being here.
I can well understand ur concerns.

If a bone cyst is discovered but is not causing any pain or showing signs of further development I Usually monitor it closely through x-rays and leave untreated.
But, If it is determined that a bone cysts requires treatment; surgery, or radiation will be used. And for that I refer the patient to Orthopaedic surgery.
Only an orthopaedic specialist is equipped to properly diagnose and outline an effective bone cyst treatment plan.
Hit helpful. Give feedback.
Thanks
