Suggest Treatment For Stroke And Hearing Problems

Hi I am a 45 year old woman who has raised 3 children have been married for 24 yrs and I have a some pretty oh I don t know I guess serious things happen to my physical health. When I was 35 I had 1 Stroke followed by 4 more with open Heart Surgery 7 Brain Surgeries ETC. Any way I see a Neuro on a regular basis and these past oh 6-9 months my memory has decreased and my Doctor last week told me she wanted me to see a Neuro Physc Doc he is going to give me a bunch of tests she explained that it could take any where from 2-6 hours to will tell them if or what stage I am in I have been reading up on this and I have seen it is just like an OLDER PERSONS should I be concerned I mean I DO have a lot of the symptoms and my family thinks it s because I CHOOSE NOT to remember as they did when I was complaining that I couldn t hear what they were saying leading me to get hearing aids any suggestions on my being worried

It is quite reasonable that you are concerned about your health. Your memory loss and hearing loss could be due to ongoing small brain strokes .

Yes you need to see a neurologist for this purpose as there are some other causes of memory loss which are quite easily treatable. The neurologist shall evaluate for that and if he finds some reversible cause he shall start medications for it .

But if your problem is exclusively due to ongoing/ recurrent stroke then it is not a good sign as you may not recover completely but further occurrence can be reduced significantly.
