Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother has an ulcer. She is also Morbidly obese (BMI 70). Whenever she is hungry she worries her ulcer is growing. I say worring is worse than being hungry for an hour or two...who is right? Should I just feed her every time she thinks she s hungry?
I understand your concern and recommend to do an endoscopy to confirm the ulcer. Also recommend using PPI medication such as Omeprazole to low the stomach acidity. I suggest to feed her but don't give her food or beverage that can trigger the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
