Suggest Treatment For Stomach Cramps And Mucus In Stools

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitus and was in the ER two weeks ago was treated with IV antibiotics. Today having trouble with bowel movements again - slight cramping and pain and lots of mucus discharge instead of an actual bowel movement. Should I continue on high fiber, or does this mean I am getting an inflamation again and I should go to liquids until the mucus goes away? I don't want to end up at the ER again - and in that much pain!!
