I went to the docs for a spider bite because that is what it look like it was very swollen and had a lot of heat to it they gave me amoxicillin 500. That was friday sat did not get any better got worse it almost was like a huge zit so I cut and drain it it had thick yellow puss that came out so I cleaned it with peroxide and neosporin and wrap it and kept it on ice because that was DR oders... sunday a lot pain kept on ice and kept clean then I noticed red streaking that evening and I went to the hospital they told I was given wrong antibotics and then gave me sulfameth/ trimethoprim 800/160 tabs for a staff infection and hydrcodone for pain 5mg told me to put warm compresses on it for 3 times a day 20-30 min they gave me an abcess guide line nothing about staff and I was told by a nurse to use the hottest I ca handle water and to soak my arm with epsom salt in the water when I did that my arm started to streak like crazy and I am scared it is starting to fade I am confused I don't want to die or loose my arm

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain it seems like severe infection at the site of spider bite and along with infection there is also prevailing allergic reaction to the toxin present in spider sting..
You are taking a correct line of treatment as it looks like an abscess and not staph infection..
You should continue taking the antibiotics and painkillers advised to you as well as keep doing the dressing by cleaning with antiseptic solution and apply triple antibiotic and steroid ointment at the bite site..
You can also take anti allergics like Levocetrizine..
Streaking seems to be due to inflammation..
In case if you do not find improvement or symptoms become exaggerated consult a general surgeon and he can give you injectable antibiotics and steroids for faster relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
