Since October 2013 I have had spasmodically pain in the right side of my head in the ear area - approx radiating into an area of my hand if held over my ear. The pain will go after anything from a few hours to over 36 hours. Today it is particularly painful hence the search online
You probably mean throbbing headache affecting one side of the head, right in your case. You have not mentioned whether you are a male or female. Based on that, I would consider three possible causes, a) migraine b) cluster headache and c) temproral arteritis. Irrespective of whatever be the cause, you should be relieved by taking naproxen 500 mg one or two tablets together as per your requirement. Take it in full stomach. Also get yourself examined by a doctor and subsequently intervene as per the cause diagnosed.
