Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Swelling In The Throat

My mother s (68yrs old) throat started to swell up, became very sore, and she can t speak louder than a whisper. Seems to be more acute on right side which made me think possible stroke but she doesn t have any of the other stroke symptoms (face droop, confusion, slurred speech etc...). She survived lymphoma years ago. I m really concerned because of the speed it happened. It started out of nowhere and and within 20mins she became very sore and lost voice. For the moment it doesn t seem to be getting worse but not getting better. We were gonna wait to see if it s just a temporary reaction to something and will go away on its own, but should we be more concerned and go to emergency?

I understand your concern.
Yes... the symptoms could be due to allergy or infection of throat.&would vanish with self care like ..
1. Eating less oily, spicy , sour or ice cold things.Eat blade,fresh & nutritive food.
2.Drink warm water only.
3. Do hot saline gargles
4.Over the counter antiinflammatories drugs &
anti allergic pills would offer relief.
If there is no relief in couple of days or if you have recent weight loss,loss of appetite, fever, lymph node enlargement..
you should go to ER for instant care
