Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With Swollen Glands, Fatigue And Fever

My daughter has gone to the ER or Urgent care twice in the last week for swollen glands, severe sore throat, fatigue and a temp. They have tested her for strep, and the rapid tests are negative. We got no results for the cultures that take longer. They won't give her anything without evidence. How can I help her with the sore throat? She can barely swallow.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of severe sore throat, fatigue,fever and swollen glands are all due to Viral infection leading to the following symptoms..

As strep throat is bacterial infection, therefore it came back negative..
The infection will however resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body..

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution.
Take Tylenol for relieving fever and Ibuprofen to relieve sore throat..
Make her gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods and give her soft bland diet..
Give her plenty of water and warm fluids..
