Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Painful Ears And Sore And Swollen Tongue

Hi I have a sore throat and slight pain in my ears. This has been followed by a sore tongue and small red spots on the back roof of my mouth. Food tastes different and my tongue feels swollen. I have tried anti histamine as thought it was an allergic reacton but this has not helped. Also been gargling salt water. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC ..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns. ..

As per your complain it seems like you have infection in throat leading to sore throat and pain in ears is due to infection in ears secondary to throat infection as throat and ears are connected via Eustachian tube..
Sore and swollen tongue and red spots on the roof of mouth is due to inflammation secondary to infection causing Stomatitis..
I would suggest you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin or Levofloxacin, Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Aleve or Motrin, keep doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
Suck throat lozenges and chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods.
For sore tongue you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, avoid spicy food and take a soft diet..
Put antibiotics ear drops like Gentamycin..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
