Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Swollen Glands On Neck

Hi, my 16 year old son has a horrible sore throat. He has been to the doctor twice this week for it. He has tested negative to strep and to mono (although the dr. did say that it may be too early to test accurately for mono). His white cell counts was slightly above average 11.2. He also has swollen glands in the back of his neck. He just called me to say that he has a new symptom which is a sharp pain from the bottom of his neck to the middle of his skull.

I really appreciate your concern, you have not asked any specific question, it may not be infection and could be some non specific symptoms and some time this could be due to allergic condition and this need to be managed accordingly if this does not responds to symptomatic medicines then it can be tried with antibiotic, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
