Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Pericoronitis

I have been on amoxicillin for 2 days because I have pericoronitis. My throat was a little sore and I thought that I was because of the infection. However my throat has only gotten worse and now its really sore. Is this because of the infection? or is it because of the amoxicillin. Should I stop taking it?

Hi.Read your history of taking Amoxicillin and having perichondritis.
In spite of antibiotic the sore throat has got worsened.

This indicates that you need further management:
I would advise you the following:
Strep test.
Get a prescription of an additional / changed antibiotic as Amox is not helping you.
Take additional good anti-inflammatory and oral steroids too as perichondritis needs it for early recovery as steroid is the most potent anti-inflammatory.
Take rest , liquid diet and steam inhalation. .
