Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Pain In The Jaw
I thought I had a sore throat a couple of weeks ago, but the sniffles and mucus have gone and now the left gland in my neck hurts, and its causing pain in my left ear and in the back of my jaw and mouth. I can't open my mouth very wide and its very hard to get to sleep. What could be going on?
As per your complain painful gland under the jaw along with pain radiating to ear and jaw and difficulty in opening mouth can be related to wisdom tooth due to inflamed gum flap that surrounds the wisdom tooth and inflammation of the gum flap is due to infection secondary to food lodgement.. You can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if there is swollen gum flap he can advise you to get an IOPAR[ x-ray] done to rule out whether wisdom tooth is impacted or not and in case if tooth is impacted extraction followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help.. In case if it is not impacted surgical removal of the gum flap will relieve permanently.. As of now you can take Tramadol for pain relief, do warm saline gargles.. You can do warm cold compresses over the cheek..
Hope this information helps..
