Suggest Treatment For Sore, Swollen And Stiff Knee

Was hit on the inside of the knee with a hockey puck. Swollen stiff and sore. Had X-rays taken four days later. Nothing broken. 3 weeks later still swollen and stiff. Saw a doctor who drained 5 syringes of bloody fluid and scheduled an mri. Next day all the fluid was back and the knee was swollen stiff and sore again. What could be the problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that there might be having formation of hematoma producing pain and stiffness.
Give complete rest to the part.
Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day for few days.
You might require one course of antibiotic medicine as there is possibility of having infection.
MRI will give information about any tear or damage to capsule or maniscus or ligaments.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Ok and take care.
