Suggest Treatment For Sore Stinging Neck

I have a sore stinging neck which has been getting gradually worse over the past week and is now causing a lot of discomfort. Can you tell me what it could be and what I can do? I am 42 female BDI 23 and am not a frequent exerciser (one swim in the last week)

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As this sounds to be symptoms of cervical spondylosis. An MRI is recommended. Since you are not a frequent exerciser I will advise you to get involved in one now. As muscles are becoming weak as each day is passing by. Do the exercise for the neck muscles and shoulder muscles to improve the stabilization of the cervical spine and shoulder joint. This will help to reduce the pain and aches.

If needed you can take the help of a Physiotherapist close to you and get treated under his guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
