I am on Holliday in Cyprus and I am feeling a lot of pain and discomfort in my throat, I m producing a lot of phlegm which I need to spit every 2 minutes and blow my nose every 5-10 minutes. 3 days ago I believed I had the flu, I took some cold and flu medicine drank hot lemon teas and felt so much better, later that night however I felt awful again and I had a horrible soar throat and a cough, when I woke up the next morning I felt worse, I continued to take the cold and flu medicine along with some cough medicine and again I felt much better by the afternoon, later that evening however, I again felt a similar discomfort in my throat, it was soar and hurt to swallow but this time I was producing a lot of phlegm. I didn t get any sleep until 6 in the morning that night because of how much discomfort and pain my throat was causing me, it hurt to swallow. Today I woke up and felt 10 times worse, I took my cold and flu tabs and spent the day in the sun... I had hot Teas and my parent brought me some thymo septime throat syrup and Mucobroxol Ambroxol Hydrochloride and some strepfen lozenges, which was all recommended by the pharmacist. After taking the two medicines I felt better almost instantly and gradually felt better throughout the day, the pain in my throat was almost gone completely and I felt almost completely fine shortly before I took the medicine for the 3rd and final time at 12 this evening... Now it s 3:30 in the morning and I m in bed feeling 10 times worse than I did this morning. I can t sleep. My throat is soar swollen and stinging, I m spitting phlegm and have a blocked nose which is also swollen inside. I m hot and my skin hurts, my arms, back and face are soar, and as I couldn t feel the heat earlier in the day or burn earlier this evening I m not sure if it s sun burn or part of the infection, I can t swallow right now without feeling pain and drinking anything cold is much worse. Any ideas of what it is and what I should do??
