Suggest Treatment For Small Itchy Bumps On The Legs

Hi ....I have a concern about moles . I ve noticed lately I have been seeing more moles around my neck line and behind on my neck . I also feel an itchy spot and then notice a bump. Can these bumps then turn into moles? They are also starting to develop on my legs too ... Is it safe to have them removed and will they come back? I am a 54 year old woman

Dear
I hope you are indeed referring to moles which are medium to deep dark, well defined flat or slightly raised skin lesions that are generally without symptoms. Sometimes such lesions may be related to sun exposure or hormonal changes or the use of certain drugs like steroids. rarely these may be related to development of a malignancy. It is unlikely that they will itch intensely or become like a bump unless there is an element of infection which cannot be ruled out. However the bumps will not turn into moles. it is safe to get them removed especially if they are cosmetically disfiguring and they may return. Please get your complete check up done to find out any cause for these lesions and proceed appropriately. In the meantime use a sunscreen and apply antibiotic cream to any bumps and use anti allergic medicines for itching for good relief till you know why they are occurring. All the best to you.
