Suggest Treatment For Small Bumps On The Tongue And Sore Throat

Developed sore throat today after being in a very smoky place near forest fires. Tonight my throat is sore on one side and I have bumps on my tongue in a "V" shape. Curious to see if I'm reacting to the smoky conditions or something else. Was going to gargle with salt water as well.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

It seems that you have got irritation of throat mucosa with the smoke leading to inflammation and soreness in the throat..
The bumps over the tongue in a V shaped pattern are Circumvallete Papillae and are slightly raised naturally and may be slightly inflamed due to irritation with smoke..
You need not to worry and can do warm saline gargles..
Throat lozenges will be relieving..
As there must be dryness and irritation caused by smoke in throat drink plenty of water..
Steam inhalation and use of humidifier in your room can be relieving.
