Suggest Treatment For Sleeplessness

my 98 year old Mother has started several days apart completely out of it and acting very agitated for several hours and will not sleep. When she goes to sleep she will sleep several hours and wake up as nothing has happened and does not remember anything.

Psychological disturbances are common in old age specially sleep disorder.

Low dose benzodiazapine under observation is advisable.

Lorazepam 1 mg is advisable if she is physically healthy and no major disturbance in renal functions.

Need to do routine test and renal function test in old age before giving any medicines.

Treatment is necessary If any other psychological illness is present.
