Suggest Treatment For Sleeplessness Caused Due To Osteoarthritis

Hi, I am in good physical health, fit & healthy diet, but losing sleep due to osteoarthritis & hot flashes. I m a 53 year old female w/ significant osteoarthritis & have received weekly acupuncture during the past 7 weeks, somewhat reducing my back pain. During this time, I ve simultaneously developed menopausal hot flashes for the 1st time, from the start of acupuncture treatment. Both osteoarthritis & hot flashes disturb my already light sleep patterns, for which I m seeking an herbal / supplement remedy. I just started Jia Wei Xiao Yao Wan & take 100 mg of L-Theanine/3mg melatonin (nightly). My OBGYN suggested fish oil omega-3 & black cohosh, but didn t provide a recommended daily dose. I ve read 1,000 mgs for fish oil (back pain) and & for black cohosh, 20-40 mg twice daily -- is this correct? I m trying to wean off 1 mg of lorazopam & 50 mg trazadone I take at night for sleep. Thank you.

Dear Madam,
Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, your sleep problem is less related to your sleep unless you worry about it too much or it is too painfull, even at rest, otherwise it seems your sleep problem has much to do with hormonal changes that are occuring in your body due to menopause, and they will settle with time. meanwhile continue your sleeping pills if you need them. take regular exercises and practice meditation or other relaxation techniques, when you are about to go to your bed. rest assured active lifestyle will not only help you in arthritis but also to cope with your symptoms of menopause. you can also consult a gynaec doctor to start on with HRT, which will make things better, also remember mood swings are common in menopause, and they also have bad effect on sleep.
I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact.
Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only.
Thanks
