hi.three days ago i was eating bacon and eggs for breakfast. unfortunately the bacon was a bit too crunchy and when i swallowed a bite it felt like it scratched the side of my throat and even perhaps a bit of my tongue. now today since it was still hurting i decided to have a look in the mirror and i noticed a bunch of white spots around the sore area. is this normal and how should i treat it?
Hi, Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.
I understand your concern. White spots in throat is most commonly due to strepto infection. It can also be due to syphilis, infectious mononuecleosis, thrush etc. Probably following the injury, you developed secondary infection. Do the following-
maintain oral hygiene gargle with warm salt water or povidone iodine take tab azithromycin 500 once daily for 5 days you can consult an ENT specialist if the above measures dont help
Hope i have answered your question. If you have any further questions i will be happy to help. Regards
