Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection

I have had an infection which was diagnosed as sinus infection. However, I have been taking antibiotics for nine days and do not seem to get better. I have a green mucus that smells terrible and tastes the same. Could this be something other than sinus?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sinus infection . I would suggest you to put nasal decongestant sprays for opening of sinuses. Taking steam will be highly beneficial .You should take antihistamines Levocetrizine and antibiotic such as Cephalosporin combination as infection is present as infection seems to be severe . Complete the course of antibiotics along with this take diet rich in vitamins and minerals to boost the immunity. Montelukast is also effective for this. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for sinus X ray and CT scan done as well. You can go for drainage of sinuses to relieve pressure and surgical reconstruction of opening after proper prescription. Do warm saline gargles.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
