Suggest Treatment For Shingles

having severe pain just under brst bone...took nystatin around 12:30 today. took it for a week then stopped because of severe gas pain.....had taken up to 3 a day at that time. went to ER on wed morning with I thought severe gas pain....now I ve broken out with shingles on left side....could this all be from nystatin? the Dr wanted me to start back up with nystatin so I did today and now I have extreme pain just like before. YYYY@YYYY

Hi.
As per your case history of shingles, my treatment advice is -
1. It is not related to nystatin. It is a viral infection.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral acyclovir taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
