Suggest Treatment For Shingles

Hi Doc I was diagnosed with shingles Saturday, the15 and given a 3 day, twice a day prescription of valacyclovir, 500mg.This means I will be through with treatment on the 17th. Will I be contagious after that. I have a family reunion on the 20th of July where there may be children and pregnant women present. This is my second bout with shingles. This time there were two small areas affected, one on my neck near my spine (3 little pimples) and one on my neck bone where it attaches to my spine (2 little pimples).

3. it is not contagious

4. you are taking wrong dose of valcyclovir

5. standard dose is 1g three times a day for 7 days

6. so in future remember this dose and start the course
