Suggest Treatment For Shingles, Burning, Itching And Sharp Shooting Pain
hi, I think I have shingles, I have all the symptoms of the burning, itching and sharp shooting pains for about a week. I never did break out into a rash, but I do have several bumps that are sensitive and painful. I developed flu like symptoms during the first week and I have been very lethargic since, general flu like symptoms. Can you have shingles with no rash & how long will I feel like this? I m 49 healthy female.

Shingles without a rash is possible but it is a very rare condition known as internal shingles. It occurs in highly immuno-compromised patients. Antiviral drugs like acyclovir should be taken to reduce the viral load. Burning pain can be treated with Amitriptylline and local application of calamine lotion.
