I am having these sharp, jolting knee pains that come on very suddenly and last anywhere from 20 sec- 2 minutes in the lower lateral aspect of my knee. I almost feels as if it is coming from the top of the tibial bone. It occurs at rest while I am sitting, with no aggravating/strenuous activities being done before hand. It feels as if some one is tazing that part of the joint. RA runs in my family (maternal and paternal grandparents), I have been diagnosed with sciatica, and have a pending diagnostic to evaluate for crohns (which I know also causes joint degeneration). Is this something I should be concerned about? What can I do to prevent the pain (knee brace, knee support/compression)? It is happening more and more frequently, and I can not necessarily decrease my activity because of my profession.
