Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello my name is Tiffany. For about half of a year now I have been experiencing very sharp pains in my left ear. About 2 nights ago my left ear made a pop sound and went out , I haven't been able to hear anything out of it since. Please help me to give me a idea of what is going on
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp pain in ear which is because of inner ear infection , otitis media, it could be external ear infection or tympanic membrane perforation. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Avoid pricking it with sharp object. You should put antibiotic drops and canesten drops in ear. Keep ears covered while taking bath and swimming. Take combination of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Go for ear examination completely and check if any audiometery tests required. Doctor may order blood test , CT scan , MRI or hearing test like audiogram. As you able to hear louder it can be due to the blood clot itself or due to trauma to the ear drum causing the bleeding and further damage to the area within.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
