Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Bloating And Yellow Color Urination

I have hadsevere bloating lasting over 2 days, cramps under my ribs below my breast bone most severe after eating greasy foods eg omlette or black pudding or cream. I had an ultrasound to check for gallstones and that came back clear. I m passing bright yellow urine and had pain during intercourse. I m a 34 year old female. Any ideas if these pains could be connected or any further tests need. Done a pregnancy test last wk to rule that out

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Stomach bloating is likely due to gastroenteritis or irritable bowel syndrome or acute gastritis but here there is no need to worry as it can be cured by medications and diet.

Also, there could be many reason for yellow colored urine,
1) If the intake of water is less, the urine will get concentrated,
2) Altered liver functions will lead to high uroblinogen which in turn lead to high yellow colored urine...

Therefore, you should go for routine blood tests, liver function tests and stool examination with ultrasound abdomen if not done previously.

Meanwhile, you should take antacids (pantoprazole) available over the counter with antibiotics (ofloxacin with ornidazole) and symptomatic treatment.

Your nearby GP may prescribe the antibiotics.

Avoid oily, spicy and non-veg foods for at least 3 to 5 days and must not take alcohol.

I would expect that you will feel better within 3 to 5 days of this medications.

Also, you have already ruled out pregnancy,so it is not connected with your pregnancy. However, your abdominal bloating could be connected with yellow colored urine but needs to be further evaluated by various tests as I suggested.

If symptoms persists then see gastroenterologist who may advice you upper GI endoscopy and will give you further advice accordingly.

Regards,
