Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat And Cough

Hi doctor my daughter is 3nd half years old and she is having sore throat with cough and her sound is totally shut down please help me with a medicine I am having kidpred , livOlin, asthalin & derphlin syrups with me please help me with a good remedy

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe sore throat and cough which is due to respiratory infection and could be a combination of bacterial and viral infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once for proper examination. Doctor may order test like throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drug like acyclovir and with anti inflammatory medications. For now do warm saline gargles , take over the counter cough syrup and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and swelling .
