Suggest Treatment For Severe Shoulder Pain Despite Medication

I have severe shoulder pain only upon certain movments. Worse pain when I lie down on my side, bend my elbow and put my head on my hand.I m 66, 220 and have never had shoulder pain ever. It started when I tripped and fell, landing on both knees, my right bent elbow and flat left hand.I am seeing an ortho, got PT and cortisone but they don t seem to know what is really wrong.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have shoulder problem , limited mobility due to accident in which you fell on groung . Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like :-
- bursitis
- tendinitis
- torn cartilage
- torn rotator cuff
- broken shoulder bone
- shoulder separation
- dislocated shoulder

I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proer examination . Doctor may order certain test like X-ray , Ct scan or MRI . Doctor may also check the mobility by asking you to perform few movement . Doctor may prescribe muscle relxant , anti inflammatory or may consider arthroscopic surgery, which is performed through a tiny incision . For now start physical therapy of shoulder .
