Suggest Treatment For Severe Pimples On The Face

Hello sir, I am Murali, age 24... I am having the pimples problem from 18 years old.. Now i am using supatret 0.04 and a sun cream as per the doctor s prescription... if i am using that supatret, the pimples are controlled.. if i forgot a single day will give the more pimples on my face... i am using this cream over 2 months... Will i continue this or can i try some other cream? pls help me... Thanks

The cream that you have been using is quite good for acne. It contains tretinoin, which is a topical retinoid.
Retinoids are comedolytic and therefore beneficial in acne.
However, since acne is quite common at your age and may return back if you are completely off all treatment.
Therefore, It is important to continue using this cream as part of a maintenance treatment i.e once every alternate days Or twice weekly for next 2-3 years, till your acne activity dies down on its own.
Besides, you may also use a topical antibacterial e.g clindamycin gel or benzoyl peroxide gel as a spot treatment for acne, during day time.
Oral antibiotics e.g Azithromycin, Doxycycline Minocycline etc may also be started if you have inflammatory acne
You may visit your dermatologist and ask in more details about using retinoids as part of a maintenance regimen.
