Suggest Treatment For Severe Persistent Pain In The Gum

Hello, I went for a cleansing of my teeth a couple of days to a dentist next to my house. It was my first time there since I just moved to Spain. After a day I felt some pain on the left inside gum and it s been like this for 2-3 days. I just went now to ask the dentist and she told me that I would need to remove my wisdom teeth, I am quite shocked about this since I never had any pain prior to the cleaning. I am afraid I am being cheated on, what should I make sure about before entering any sort of problems .. Thanks!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe persistent pain in the gum which is because of inflammation of gums due to a condition called gingivitis/ periodontitis and root cause for this is every time cusp of tooth comes out of gingival tissue you will start experiencing these symptoms.

I would suggest you not to panic about it. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Don't touch gum area repeatedly as it will spread infection. You should start gargling with numbing mouth gel. Do warm saline gargles as well. You should take a combination of Ibuprofen and Diclofenac. If you are not ready for extraction, you should visit periodontist once and go for complete examination and scaling and root cleaning in particular quadrant. Your symptoms will resolve soon.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
