Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Th Ears Post Swimming

I jumped in swimming pool and felt a pop in ears and now my right ears hurt soooo bad when in blow nose or breathe deep like. What can I do or what did I do. It was first time swimming in 7yrs and was only in for 15minutes. Pls help ear pain is bad. Lisa

The popping sound may be related to the eustachian tube. This is a tube that connects the middle ear to the back of the throat.

It has different functions including regularizing the pressure in the ear.

Another possibility is rupture of the ear drum/tympanic membrane. If this has occurred, it may heal on its own though this can sometimes take up to 4 weeks.

It would be best to be seen by your doctor for assessment and treatment.
