Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Thumb And Wrist
I have had a gradual increase in thumb pain starting about 3 weeks ago. The thenar eminence is painful and it hurts to adduct by thumb. I think it hurts at the base of the thumb in the wrist too. At first I thought it was joint pain but I am not so sure anymore?

What is your age? If you are elderly then possibility of metacarpo phalangeal joint arthritis is highly likely. If you are younger ligament injury to thumb is more likely. So you need to be investigated with Xray of hand anteroposterior and oblique views to confirm diagnosis. Start tab bruffen 400mg thrice a day. Visit hand specialist with report.
