Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Throat

My throat hurts on the outside like the muscles lining the neck, not the inside of the neck. It is mostly painful toward the rt side and bottom of my neck where it meets my chest. It also seems it has two small nodules, one on the rite side of my neck and one on the left side.. l was wondering what you think it may be or if it needs to be follow-up? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain what you are experiencing in the throat could be due to inflammation of the mucosa lining pharynx.

Two nodules what you are noticing could be enlarged lymph nodes, which could have been due to underlying inflammation.

It would be better for you to get examined clinically by consulting ENT specialist, which would clearly indicate what could be the cause for your symptoms, and can be managed accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
