Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Ribs Post Injury

I was in a car accident 3 months ago and sustained badly bruised ribs from seat belt.cat scan found a large hernia,my ribs are still killing me at night, can not turn on left side, hurts to get up and down. Could it have anything to do with the hernia or do ribs take that long to heal? Why do you say it is free?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you may suffer from rib fractures and ribs take time to heal pus the pressure effects of hernia add to the rib pain.

You can consult your doctor to give you stronger painkillers and in later stages, you can also discuss regarding epidural analgesia option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
